“Language is what connects us to the world and to people” – Nigel Howard

Nigel Howard has worked as a Deaf Interpreter for nearly 30 years in various settings – locally, nationally and internationally. He is an accredited International Sign Interpreter with the United Nations, WFD, WASLI and many others.He works as an instructor at Douglas College in the Sign Language Interpretation program, and Child, Family and Community Studies (CFCS) program, as well at the University of Victoria and University of British Columbia in the Department of Linguistics. He is on the Board of World Association of Sign Language Interpreters’ (WASLI) as the Treasurer. Nigel provides workshops and training on a number of topics around the world. Most recently, he has been front and center in BC for his interpreting work during the coronavirus pandemic.”
