SLIAO’s Video Remote Interpreting in the Classroom

 In News, IVD
Right now, our school systems are navigating massive changes due to the COVID pandemic. All students – including those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind are going to need additional support.

In the case of Deaf, Hard of Hearing or DeafBlind students, effective learning means access to information in their primary language. Educators and school boards must hold themselves accountable and ensure their students have access to quality sign language interpretation services.

SLIAO’s Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), offers a live virtual option to connect to a professional sign language interpreter, while the student is still able to participate in class discussion. Clear communication in a Deaf, Hard of Hearing or DeafBlind person’s primary language is essential to providing quality interactions with their professors and peers. This can result in higher comprehension and learning outcomes.

Let’s flatten the curve together. We are ready to support you and your students to ensure everyone’s success.
