She is accredited as an interpreter for PWGSC, the Ministry of the Attorney General and OIS. She is Director of Video Interpreting. In 2014, Roxanne led the development of SLIAO’s new division, SWIFT Video Interpreting Services, and brings her love and passion of technology and communication to this emerging medium of interpreting in Canada. She has been a long-time volunteer in the Ottawa Deaf and Interpreting community.
A one-time board member of the former Ottawa Deaf Centre and Ottawa Mayfest Co-Chair, Roxanne is currently the President of Sign Language Interpreters of the National Capital (SLINC) and has been since 2014 and also back in 2000-2004. Working with Deaf Interpreters is another area of interest and Roxanne has been actively involved with the recruitment and development of the Deaf Interpreting field since 2013. She is interested and motivated to work within the field to create employment opportunities for Deaf people and Interpreters and make access to communication available – everywhere!
